It was stated that the unidentified elongated object that was dropped was an "octagonal structure" with wires on it. According to The Guardian, it is said to be the same object seen on the state of Montana on Saturday. The Pentagon stated that the downed object appears to be circulating near US military bases and poses a threat to civil aviation.

The Pentagon also emphasized that the object could potentially be used for tracking. Since the waters of Lake Huron are very cold this season, army personnel with special diving equipment will remove parts of the dropped object. General Glen VanHerck said they didn't know what the last three objects were, how they were airborne, or where they came from.
