We always try not to stay alone, but maybe being alone could be the best thing for you. A scientist from Durham University in the United Kingdom pointed out the mental health benefits of spending time alone. Although we try to stay with friends all the time, we also might need some alone time.

Thuy-vy Nguyen, an academic who conducts research on this subject in the Department of Psychology, defines loneliness as "the time we spend without interacting with other people". "Taking some time for yourself has a positive effect on your daily mood," says the academic, based on research he conducted at the university.
According to Nguyen, there are two types of loneliness and they are often confused.
The first is loneliness, which the academic mentioned means that individuals spend time alone with themselves. The other is a negative loneliness, which is more long-term and means being alone. The academician says the positive effects of loneliness are ignored due to the lack of distinction between the two. Sometimes we need to process what we have been through in life alone, or in order to understand one's feeling we might need some space.
