Is Matrix becoming real? Mexico has banned startup solar geoengineering experiments
Imagine the sky being dark, sounds familiar right? The project that focuses on Sun has been banned.
A new experiment was about to take its place, yet now Mexican authorities have stopped it. Mexican authorities have banned environmental tech startup Make Sunsets' "Darken the Sun" experiments. In the last days of 2022, the initiative had begun to release sulfur dioxide particles into the atmosphere's stratosphere with the aim of cooling the planet. In experiments aimed at reducing the climate crisis, 1.8-meter helium balloons filled with sulfur dioxide were released into the sky in the Mexican state of Baja California.

These balloons release sulfur dioxide particles when they reach high altitudes. The particles in question are also intended to reflect sunlight back into space, preventing it from reaching the surface. But more sulfur dioxide bubbles had to be released before it could have a noticeable effect.
The Mexican Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has banned further experiments under the project. The ministry's statement brought the work of Make Sunsets to a standstill.
This method, often referred to as "solar geoengineering", has been discussed in scientific circles for a long time. The idea in question was first introduced by Professor at Harvard University in 1989.
