The first season of the Game of Thrones prequel wrapped up on October 23 with the episode "The Black Queen." This episode set the stage for the Targaryen civil war known as "Dance of the Dragons".
As to the date of the season two HBO chief content officer Casey Bloys said: “Don’t expect it in ‘23, but I think sometime in ‘24.” and he added: “We’re just starting to put the plan together, and just like last time, there are so many unknowns. It’s not to be coy or secretive, but you don’t want to say it’s going to be ready on this date, and then you have to move it.”
House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama series created for HBO by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal. Based on Martin's book Fire and Blood, the series deals with the process leading up to the civil war called The Dance of Dragons and this civil war.
