In the second episode, Jocelyn masturbates, self-harms while mourning her dead mother, and eventually becomes a sex slave to The Weekend's character, Tedros. In what the British edition of GQ describes as "the worst sex scene in history", Jocelyn satisfies herself but fails to satisfy viewers.
A news in Variety revealed that the new episode attracted 800,000 viewers on Max and HBO on the same day, and this figure was 913 thousand at the premiere. HBO has been quite successful for the past couple years offering shows like Game of Thrones and the Last of Us but unfortunately not every show they offer goes well. The Idol, which received a standing ovation for 5 minutes after its premiere in Cannes, received harsh reactions from the critics.
