DeepMind's Sparrow chatbot reportedly has features that OpenAI's ChatGPT lacks, including the ability to cite resources through reinforcement learning. But Hassabis warned of the potential dangers of powerful AI technology. Speaking to Time magazine, Hassabis said that Sparrow could be released as a private beta in 2023, but that artificial intelligence is "on the verge" of reaching a level where it could cause significant harm to humanity.
