Stating that The Ice Dragon is independent from the Game of Thrones universe, Martin used the following statements: I've also written books that aren't set in Westeros. One of them was a short story about an ice dragon that I wrote in 1978. Martin added that Warner Bros. has purchased the rights to this work and will turn it into animation. The famous writer continued, "As I said, this is just a short story. It's actually a children's story, but we're going to turn it into a movie." On the other hand, Martin has not yet finished the last book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, from which Game of Thrones is adapted. The famous author said, "I wrote more than half of it," about the book that the fans were eagerly waiting for.
