Foxconn offers to pay workers to leave the largest iPhone factory after violent riot
Foxconn, the world's largest iPhone maker, announced that it will pay $1,400 to those who want to leave after violent protests from employees.
ZHENGZHOU, China - (TechtUSA) Rioting workers at Foxconn's main iPhone factory in Zhengzhou clashed with police, smashing windows and surveillance cameras last day. The various reports showed that workers heavily complain about even not getting meals in COVID lockdown. Moreover, they suffer from extremely harsh conditions. Later on, workers started a riot to make their voice heard. After these violent riot, Foxconn announced that they will pay $1,400 to those who will leave the factory.
Most of the more than 200,000 workers at Foxconn's main plant in Zhengzhou come from various parts of the province or country. However, these workers stated that the COVID-19 was flocking in the factory, and there were no meal and enough medicine. Some workers even did not get their their promised bonuses and wage.

Foxconn admitted it had made a "technical error" and admitted that new hires were paid less. “Our team looked into the matter and discovered that a technical error had occurred during the hiring process,” the company said in a statement. We apologize for a login error in the computer system and we assure you that the actual wage is the same as stated on the official recruitment posters.” said.
In addition to promising to fix the payment error, Foxconn also offered to compensate recruits who no longer wanted to work there. Foxconn is offering to pay these people 10,000 Chinese Yuan that is $1,400.
