Donald Trump defended North Korea’s Kim Jong
Trump stands up for North Korea's "not pleased" Kim Jong after missile attacks.
Following a string of recent missile launches, former President Donald Trump supported Kim Jong Un, claiming the North Korean leader felt "threatened" by upcoming military drills by the US and its South Korean allies. Trump asserted that he became close to Kim during his time in the White House in a statement on his Truth Social page.

"Kim Jung Un of North Korea, whom I got to know and got along with very well during my years as President, is not pleased with the United States and South Korea conducting significant air and training maneuvers together," Trump wrote. "He feels in danger. He continued to gripe that South Korea "We receive very little compensation for carrying out these pricy and provocative exercises. It's absolutely absurd."
Trump criticized North Korea in the early stages of his presidency and called its leader "Rocket Man". Ultimately, however, Trump and Kim Jong-un first met in Singapore in 2019, then reunited when Trump became the first president to set foot in North Korea. But this summit did not lead to the disarmament of North Korea. Trump later said the two exchanged letters and "fallen in love".
