This time China has gone a few steps ahead and invented something to blow your mind. Developed by a team from Cinggua University in Beijing, the SpiralE brain-computer interface (BCI) uses a flexible in-ear material to establish a digital connection with the brain.
The development follows recent developments in BCI technology, where companies like Elon Musk's Neuralink are testing brain chips that can read the minds of pigs and monkeys. Ultimately, this technology can provide a "full bandwidth data stream" to the brain.
Unlike Neuralink's device, this latest invention does not require surgery or other microneedle-based invasive methods to attach, making it suitable for everyday use, the scientists claim. The concept of security is a problem as well, but AI can not be stopped at this point.
