Brazilian police fatally shoot pool hall murderer, killing seven, including a 12-year-old girl
Police have killed a gunman who slaughtered seven people, including a 12-year-old girl, in a pool hall after they laughed at him for losing, in Brazil.
CUIABA, Brazil (TechtUSA) - Ezequias Souza Ribeiro, a 27-year-old man who went on a killing spree in Brazil after losing two games of pool, has been killed by the police. He had executed a group of people who laughed at him when he lost around $780 playing at a bar in Sinop, after which he went on the run.
After a few days of evading the authorities, he was found in a wooded area around nine miles from Cuiabá and was killed in a confrontation with the police.

According to Military Police, Edgar Ricardo de Oliveira, who was an accomplice of the shooter who killed seven people, was able to flee but surrendered himself on Thursday morning. He was taken into police custody and admitted to the crimes. The shooter, on the other hand, was shot by the police and taken to a regional hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The bar massacre was caught on CCTV footage, which showed Ezequias Ribeiro approaching the victims with a pistol, followed by his accomplice, Edgar de Oliveira, who opened fire with a shotgun. The attackers then executed the victims at close range. Police investigators had been gathering witness accounts and searching for the perpetrators before Oliveira surrendered and confessed to the crime.
According to a police official, Oliveira had played pool with one of the victims and lost 4,000 reais ($780) earlier that day. He returned in the afternoon with Ribeiro to challenge the victim again and lost once more, which resulted in the onlookers laughing at him.
