A group of researchers provided 50 individuals with electroencephalogram headsets for the purpose of measuring brain activity as part of a study that was recently published in the EEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security.

The members were then shown a bunch of 500 pictures that incorporate pictures of normal food things, VIPs, and words. The researchers chose these images because they have been shown to elicit individual emotional responses. Researchers were able to identify each individual with 100% accuracy based on their brain biometrics after scanning the EEG responses with a computer. When compared to fingerprints or retinal scans, researchers claim that these brainwave patterns, also known as brainprints, are a superior form of biometrics.
The individual's fingers and retinas cannot be altered during a fingerprint or retinal scan. A brainwave pattern, on the other hand, can be altered, allowing a user to reset their pattern in the unlikely event that the brain print is stolen.
