It has been reported that Moonbin, a member of the popular South Korean boy band ASTRO, has passed away at the young age of 25.
SEOUL, South Korea - Tragic news has emerged that Moonbin, a talented member of the popular South Korean boy band Astro, has passed away at the age of 25 due to suicide at his residence in Seoul's Gangnam district.
Moonbin reportedly "took his own life"
Moonbin, the singer-actor, was discovered by his manager around 8:10 p.m. KST on April 19, at his residence in Seoul's Gangnam district. The manager promptly contacted the police, as confirmed by the Seoul Gangnam Police Station. “It appears that Moonbin took his own life,” police told South Korean news media. “We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.”
Fantagio, the South Korean management agency that represents Astro, has officially confirmed Moonbin's passing. In a statement, Fantagio expressed that Moonbin has "become a star in the sky," indicating the singer's unfortunate demise.
Moonbin made his debut as a member of the six-member boy group Astro in 2016. However, he took a temporary leave from the band in 2019 due to health issues. Moonbin made a comeback in 2020 and was actively involved as a host for the popular Korean music series, Show Champion, alongside his fellow group members.
