American Airlines pilots vote for a strike
The vote was declare Monday. In any case, no walk-offs are fast approaching. According to the Wall Street Journal, airline worker strikes are difficult to pursue due to federal law. The Allied Pilots Association, which represents more than 15,000 pilots working for American airlines, reported that 96% of its members cast ballots in favor of authorizing a strike.
American Carriers told the paper on Monday that it accepts it can come to a concurrence with the pilots' association soon. It stated that the pilots' sense of urgency heading into negotiations was reflected in the strike vote. The strike itself does not mean the arguments and speculations will pile up, instead vote itself means the pilots are eager to reach a middle point for some agreement. What awaits the Airline's future is still not certain and how long the strike will last is unknown.
