Officials at a brewery later confirmed that food coloring had leaked from the rain gutter into the river but did not pose any health risks. The Orion Breweries brewery issued a statement soon after, apologizing for "causing great distress and concern". Aftermath was also a topic for concern but nothing happened and in long term it will be fine. A local health official said that "no major impact on the environment" is expected from the leak, the Okinawa Times reported.
