According to reports, he intended to impress his friends by concealing the bandaged mummy, whom he had given the nickname "Juanita," in the bag. According to the BBC, he explained that he kept her in a box next to the television, which his father had previously owned. The body, according to experts, was between 600 and 800 years old and belonged to an adult male, not a woman.

It was 1.51 meters tall and estimated to have been over 45 years old at the time of his death. As is typical of many pre-Hispanic burials in that region, the mummy was reportedly wrapped in bandages in the foetal position.
