6 killed in Nashville school shooting, female shooter dead

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP/TechtUSA) - On Monday, a woman carrying two "assault-style" rifles and a pistol opened fire at a private Christian school in Nashville, resulting in the deaths of three students and three adults. This incident marks the latest in a string of mass shootings that have left the American public feeling increasingly uneasy about the level of violence in schools.
The perpetrator of the shooting at The Covenant School, an educational institution in Nashville, was shot and killed by police following the attack. The incident resulted in the deaths of three students and three adults. Initially, law enforcement officials believed the shooter was a teenager, but it was later revealed that she was a 28-year-old woman from Nashville. The school has an enrollment of approximately 200 students from preschool through sixth grade.
Authorities are investigating the identity of the shooter and whether she had any connections to The Covenant School. The victims of the shooting were pronounced dead upon arrival at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Additionally, one officer sustained a hand wound from cut glass during the incident.
