Is the concept of “decentralization” of the cyrpto market a good thing?
Cryptomeda continues to keep the pulse of the crypto ecosystem. Expert speakers at the event shared their views on decentralization discussions.
The concept of “decentralization” has been quite discussed ever since coins became much more popular and common. Yet discussions about decentralization in the crypto ecosystem continue. On the other hand, discussions on the possible effects of centralized structures on nation-states remain hot on the agenda. Experts has some ideas on the subject. Let's take a look.
Is the concept of “decentralization” of the cyrpto market a good thing?
Sharing their ideas some experts claim “If we discuss decentralization over blockchain technology, perhaps Bitcoin (BTC) technology will come to our minds in the first place. When we discuss who has the authority, who has the duty, and who is the administration, we can talk about an organization without a central structure. On the other hand, discussions on how to manage big data started. Data management started to be talked about with a completely different approach with blockchain. However, we missed something in between. Management evolves into governance conceptually and operationally. We are moving towards a reality of governance rather than a unilateral authority governing people. I deal with the issue as governance in predominantly decentralized structures. While coding, talking and trying to understand, I try to look at the concept of governance. In my view, this is decentralization. I like to explain the concept from the power issue. We sometimes forget the human being, our main focus. How close should the issue of power be with information, when humanity has turned into an information society and all digital technologies have increased the production of information so much? There is no such thing as a decentralized future”
There are also positive statements too. Some experts claimed “When we look at history, we see that central structures abuse the duties assigned to them. Especially after entering the digital age, answers are sought to questions such as how can we solve this problem, can we establish a decentralized governance system. In fact, the phrase itself means the opposite of governance and decentralization. If there is governance, there is no decentralization. If there is decentralization, there is no governance. Then chaos ensues. When we define it this way, the technology that solves this situation can be shown as blockchain. It is possible to establish a communication channel that will work without any central control or control mechanism over the blockchain. So how might this affect the world in the future? It is generally understood that it will eliminate centralized structures. This is the first perception, but I think this perception is wrong."
