The Xiaomi 13T series made a significant splash in Malaysia during its pre-order period, garnering high sales volumes. However, as pre-order customers started receiving their Xiaomi 13T orders, many noticed that the promised freebies, valued at RM568 (120 USD), were missing from their packages. This led to an outcry, with disgruntled customers sharing their experiences and an increase in return orders due to the misleading advertisement.

Initially, Xiaomi Malaysia explained that the stock of Redmi Buds 4 Pro and Xiaomi Smart Band 8 had run out, resulting in the absence of free gifts in the pre-order packages. However, in response to the mounting concerns raised by Xiaomi 13T pre-order customers, Xiaomi Malaysia swiftly took action.
Within 24 hours, Xiaomi Malaysia officially resolved the pre-order controversy by deciding to reimburse Xiaomi 13T customers who did not receive their Redmi Buds 4 Pro and Xiaomi Smart Band 8. Customers were provided with coupons that allowed them to acquire the gifts for free directly from the Xiaomi store.
To further expedite the resolution process, Malaysian buyers who have not received their free gifts can directly engage with Xiaomi Malaysia's online customer service on platforms such as Lazada or Shopee to redeem their free gift coupons.
The Xiaomi 13T series is officially set to go on sale in Malaysia starting October 7th. It boasts a flagship triple camera setup in collaboration with camera giant Leica and introduces Xiaomi's first 144Hz refresh rate OLED display in its smartphone lineup.
