Xiaomi 13 Ultra's camera performance couldn't satisfy DXOMARK!
DXOMARK, considered the authority in measuring the performance of smartphone cameras, did not give a passing grade to Xiaomi 13 Ultra!
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra, initially released in China, has now made its grand entrance in the international market, beginning with Hong Kong. Packed with highly touted cameras, the smartphone has garnered considerable attention. Despite the glowing reviews and marketing materials singing praises of its camera capabilities, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has not managed to secure a top 10 spot in DXOMARK's esteemed ranking. In fact, it places as the 14th best camera phone according to DXOMARK, falling behind models like the iPhone 14 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro.
Though reviewers and users alike have lauded the versatile camera system of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, DXOMARK's evaluation paints a less flattering picture. Our independent testing of the device's cameras found it impressive, matching up against smaller cameras like the RICOH GR series. This view is reciprocated by tech publishers across the globe. Yet, DXOMARK's appraisal seems to diverge from the consensus.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra's camera performance couldn't satisfy DXOMARK!
Although Xiaomi has projected the 13 Ultra as the zenith of mobile imaging, DXOMARK's rating tells a different story. Scoring an overall 140, the smartphone ties in the 14th position with the Pixel 7, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and the Vivo X90 Pro Plus. It lags behind other top contenders, such as the Google Pixel 7 Pro, ranking 6th, the Huawei P60 Pro in the top spot, Apple's iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max in the 8th position, and even the previous year's iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, ranked 11th.
Surprisingly, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra ranks lower than the Mi 11 Ultra released two years earlier. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra, despite its advanced camera setup - featuring four 50 MP lenses, does not meet the mark. The primary camera uses the Sony IMX989 sensor, while the ultra-wide-angle and dual telephoto cameras employ three IMX858 sensors.
