WhatsApp keeps granting broader permissions to group admins
For some time, with its updates emphasizing groups, WhatsApp appears committed to this strategy.
Meta's renowned messaging platform, WhatsApp, continues its commitment to enhancing the user experience for both iOS and Android users. A recent update, as disclosed by WABetaInfo, unveils the addition of the "Admin Review" function for group chats in the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.16.18, currently accessible to a select group of beta testers.
This new addition provides group administrators with the ability to oversee group dynamics more efficiently, even during their absence. It facilitates a platform where members can report specific messages to the group admins, ensuring a healthier and more respectful chat ambiance. Once flagged, the admin has the discretion to either remove the reported message for all members or decide on further actions depending on the message's nature, which may include evicting the message sender from the group. All messages awaiting review will appear in a dedicated section within the group details page, and any member can suggest a message for review via the message settings.

This admin review functionality strengthens the hands of group admins, allowing them to monitor chat activities without being constantly engaged. It enhances security measures and upholds the sanctity of user privacy during group interactions.
WhatsApp plans to make this feature more widespread among beta testers who have the latest update, with a general release anticipated soon. Additionally, they are venturing into refining security protocols with email integration and introducing animated avatars to amplify user engagement.
