WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging apps worldwide, has introduced a new feature called 'Keep in Chat' that allows users to save important messages within a chat. This feature comes as a significant update, as previously WhatsApp's disappearing messages feature automatically deleted messages after a certain period of time, leaving no option for users to save them for future reference.

How does 'Keep in Chat' feature work?

WhatsApp's new 'Keep in Chat' feature empowers users to retain important messages for future reference. The belief is that if you send a message, you should have the choice to allow others in the chat to keep it or not. The sender will be notified when a message is saved and can veto the decision if they wish.

Once a decision is made, it is final, and the message will be deleted when the timer expires. Saved messages will be indicated with a bookmark icon and can be easily accessed in the Kept Messages folder, organized by chat.

"We hope people enjoy this new update and the flexibility to keep the messages they need," stated Mark Zuckerberg in the announcement. "This will roll out globally over the next few weeks." he added.

WhatsApp's newly introduced 'Keep in Chat' feature is anticipated to be a valuable addition for users seeking to maintain the privacy of their conversations while saving crucial messages
