Vivo's new smartphone has finally come to light after earlier appearances on Chinese certification platforms with the model number V2312BA. Named the Vivo Y78t, this device has been discreetly introduced to the Chinese market.

Sporting a 6.64-inch LCD display, the Y78t offers a crisp Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2388 pixels. Users can expect a smooth visual experience thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate reaching up to 240Hz. Unique to its design, a fingerprint sensor is conveniently positioned on the right edge. The phone operates on OriginOS 3.0, which is based on Android 13.

Diving into its internal specifications, the Y78t is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and comes with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage options. A highlight is its robust 6,000mAh battery, equipped with 44W fast charging capabilities. Buyers have the flexibility to choose from configurations such as 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM with 256 GB storage, or a hefty 12 GB RAM paired with 256 GB storage.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 8-megapixel front-facing camera, while the rear features a 50-megapixel primary camera accompanied by a 2-megapixel bokeh lens and an LED flash. As for connectivity, the device supports dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS. Additionally, a USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack are included. Interestingly, the Y78t shares striking similarities with the iQOO Z8x, which was launched earlier in China.

In terms of pricing, the top-tier 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variant is available for 1,499 Yuan (205$). Prospective buyers can expect its release on October 22, with color choices including black, white, and green. Currently, it's uncertain if Vivo plans to extend the Y78t's availability to other markets.
