Vivo continues to expand its X90 series

In May, the tech community caught wind of a new Vivo smartphone, identified by the model number V2241HA in the databases of both the Google Play Console and China’s TENAA certification platform. This mystery device was later confirmed to be the Vivo X90S, set to make its debut in the Chinese market. The initial listings hinted at a device akin to the Vivo X90 but with an enhanced chipset for superior processing speed. Recently, a well-known tipster, Bald Panda, shed some light on the nuances that distinguish the Vivo X90S from the X90.

According to the tipster's disclosures, the Vivo X90S seems to be an incremental upgrade to the X90 model. Where the X90 is powered by a 3.05GHz Dimensity 9200 SoC and offers Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, the soon-to-be-launched Vivo X90S is expected to step up its game with a 3.35GHz Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset and upgraded Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. In terms of aesthetics, while the X90 is available in a spectrum of colors including black, white, blue, and red, insider information suggests that the X90S is set to introduce an appealing green variant.

Under the hood, this Dimensity 9200 Plus-powered device may come with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Finally, the Vivo X90S will house a robust 4,810mAh battery, compatible with 120W charging support.
