The overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is now set to venture into other smartphone territories, starting with the forthcoming Red Magic 8S Pro that is confirmed to accommodate this powerhouse chip.

In the rapidly advancing realm of gaming smartphones, Red Magic is set to introduce its newest contender—the Red Magic 8S Pro, slated for release in China on the 5th of July 2023. The company has already begun promoting the device and has verified that it will feature an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, termed the "Leading Version," which boasts a higher frequency than its regular counterpart.

The standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, used in phones like the OnePlus 11 and iQOO 11, maxes out at 3.2 GHz. Furthermore, the Red Magic 8S Pro is anticipated to harbor a souped-up GPU, which will operate at 719 MHz, a significant upgrade from the standard version's 680 MHz.

Despite the Samsung Galaxy S23 series boasting a higher clock speed than the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones, it does not show any groundbreaking performance boosts. This could potentially be attributed to Samsung's incapability to fully tap into the chip's potential. Contrarily, Red Magic might prove more successful in harnessing this processor's prowess with the 8S Pro, especially considering its gaming-centric cooling mechanism.
