The outer screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 could exceed expectations
A stream of new information keeps coming about the most intriguing aspect of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which has been the subject of many different claims for quite some time.
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 5 is set for a significant upgrade this year, with the introduction of a larger, more functional cover display. Past iterations of the Z Flip series had external displays that offered limited capabilities, such as displaying notifications, widgets, and facilitating selfie captures. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is ready to break away from this tradition, potentially offering a suite of Google applications that are specifically optimized for the new cover screen.
As per a recent report from Sammobile, Samsung is said to be collaborating with Google to integrate some of its applications into the Galaxy Z Flip 5's cover display. The applications in question reportedly include Google Maps, Google Messages, and YouTube. Samsung is also expected to optimize its own applications to work seamlessly with the new and improved cover display.

Notably, the cover screen on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is projected to be substantially larger than those found on previous models. It's anticipated that the device will feature a 3.4-inch cover display that dominates nearly the entire top half of the phone. This would be a significant jump from the 1.9-inch cover panel found on the Galaxy Z Flip 4. However, it's worth mentioning that this new display, while larger, will still be slightly smaller than the Moto Razr 40 Ultra's 3.6-inch display.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5, along with the Z Fold 4, is rumored to showcase a new hinge design and incorporate the potent Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The flip phone is expected to have a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED primary display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, alongside a dual rear camera setup with a probable 12MP main sensor. The unveiling of this innovative smartphone is anticipated at this year's Unpacked event, where it will be presented along with several other new products.
