It appears that OnePlus has given a nod to the name of its forthcoming foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open. Earlier discussions pointed to a third-quarter release, but recent revelations suggest a delay for unspecified but compelling reasons. Notably, the OnePlus Open's leaked specifications and renders surfaced in June, with the well-regarded tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer, known as onleaks, recently sharing an update to these renders.

The refreshed images of the OnePlus Open, as revealed by onleaks, are developed from pictures of pre-production units, promising an accurate and detailed glimpse into the upcoming device. They also stand in contrast to the former CAD-based leaks.

In this latest round, the OnePlus Open seems to possess a more compact look, deviating from the taller aspect ratio displayed in the older leaks. The new images showcase a wider aspect ratio, mirroring the OPPO Find N2 or perhaps the Google Pixel Fold. In its compactness, the device almost seems wallet-sized with curved edges all around.

The back panel presents a larger circular camera module with slight modifications from its initial render. It accommodates two sensors, a periscope lens, and the recognizable 'H' emblem, signifying Hasselblad's involvement. Another feature, possibly a Time-of-Flight or LiDAR sensor, is also visible. The back panel continues to display a faux leather texture, with an enlarged LED flash unit in its top left corner.

The OnePlus Open features thin bezels on both interior and exterior screens. The primary display hosts a centrally located punch-hole cutout, while the interior screen has one in the top right corner.

Significant alterations from older to new renders reveal a boxier shape for the OnePlus Open. Positioned on the right edge are the power and volume rocker buttons, with the former potentially functioning as a fingerprint scanner. An Alert Slider, an iconic OnePlus feature, is located on the left side of the device. The foldable phone is also expected to have quad speakers, with two speaker grilles each on the top and bottom, and a USB-C port at the base.
