The eagerly awaited Honor V Purse is finally available for purchase
Developed by the Chinese tech company Honor and marketed as one of the thinnest foldable smartphones, V Purse is now on sale in China.
Honor, merging fashion with technology, has unveiled its unique foldable phone, the Honor V Purse, in China. First presented to the world at the IFA in Berlin, this innovative device is not just a piece of tech but also a statement of style. True to its name, the Honor V Purse has been fashioned to resemble and function as a purse, albeit electronically. What's notable, however, is its singular purpose as a tech gadget; it does not serve the practical functionality of a purse in storing items.
The design of the Honor V Purse stands out. Unlike most foldable phones that bend inwards, this one folds outward, adorned with a wraparound display on its rear. When folded, its thickness measures a mere 8.6mm, on par with conventional flat smartphones. Honor accentuates the gadget's robustness, emphasizing that its hinge mechanism can endure up to 400,000 folds. Adding a touch of personalization, the phone arrives with interchangeable straps and chains. These straps are crafted using vegan leather, adding an eco-friendly touch to its design.
The technological specifications are impressive as well. It sports a 6.45-inch primary display with a resolution of 2348×1088 pixels. When unfurled, the screen size extends to 7.7 inches, displaying visuals at a resolution of 2348×2016 pixels. These displays are flexible OLED panels, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and reaching a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The device also features an Always-on display that comes with a plethora of interchangeable and interactive wallpapers, designed to mirror a user's outfit, thereby amplifying its fashion quotient. Honor's collaboration with various artists to curate these Always-on Display styles further enables the device to mimic a handbag's appearance.

When it comes to camera capabilities, the Honor V Purse is equipped with a dual rear camera setup: a 50MP primary sensor combined with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The device also incorporates an 8MP front camera for selfie enthusiasts. Performance-wise, it runs on a Snapdragon 778G processor, with options of 16GB RAM and storage capacities up to 512GB. A 4,500mAh battery powers the device, supporting 35W fast charging, and it operates on MagicOS 7.1 based on Android T.
For those interested in the pricing, the Honor V Purse's 16GB + 256GB model is priced at CNY 5,999 ($822), while the more expansive 16GB + 512GB version comes at CNY 6,599 ($890). Honor offers this unique foldable in a range of hues: Camellia Gold, Glacier Blue, and Elegant Black. The device is now up for pre-booking and will be available for purchase starting September 26.
