Redmi, who aims to become a significant name in the tablet world, continues to develop its new tablet, the Pad 2, as part of this ambition.

Redmi, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, ventured into the tablet sector with the release of the Redmi Pad last year. As of now, reports indicate that they are working on their next installment, the Redmi Pad 2. Earlier, this forthcoming device had been detected in the EEC certification database. However, recent insights from a credible Chinese source, Digital Chat Station, have provided us with a sneak peek into the specifications of this anticipated product via the microblogging platform Weibo.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Redmi Pad 2 will sport a display size varying between 10 to 11 inches. The device is set to come with an LCD panel, featuring a 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The specifications point to an 8MP camera at the back, accompanied by a 5MP camera at the front for selfies. Powering the tablet will reportedly be a Snapdragon 680 processor, complemented by an impressive 8,000mAh battery.

The source has also hinted that the Redmi Pad 2 is set to be an entry-level model, leaving the rest of the specifics to be unveiled. Considering these leaked details, it is safe to assume that the Redmi Pad 2 will offer an incremental upgrade from its predecessor.

Looking back at the Redmi Pad launched last year, it had a 10.6-inch display with 2K resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The tablet supported streaming HD content on OTT apps due to its Widevine L1 certification. On top of that, it came with Dolby Atmos-certified quad-speakers and dual microphones for enhanced audio experience. The device ran on a Helio G99 SoC and packed up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It was supported by an 8,000mAh battery capable of 18W charging.
