Sony Xperia 5 V now appears on Geekbench
The eagerly awaited new smartphone from the Japanese tech giant Sony, Xperia 5 V, made its appearance in the Geekbench performance test.
Sony has unveiled its new Xperia 5 V smartphone, set to launch in Japan on September 1. There are indications that this device will also be available in other international markets. Performance and key specifications of the North American model have come to light thanks to a recent Geekbench listing.
The Geekbench test results suggest that the Xperia 5 V, also known as XQ-DE54, will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. This processor will have a base clock of 2.02GHz and can boost up to 3.19GHz. The particular model that appeared on Geekbench is equipped with 8GB RAM and runs on the Android 13 operating system. As for its performance metrics, the device scored 1,453 in the single-core test and 4,556 in the multi-core test.

While the Geekbench listing didn't provide exhaustive details about the phone, other sources have shared more insights. The Xperia 5 V is expected to sport a distinctive boxy design complemented by a pill-shaped camera module. It will house two rear sensors, both of which are equipped with Zeiss T* coated lenses. Among other features, users can anticipate a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and 33W fast charging capabilities, which aligns with a previous 3C certification listing. There's also a rumor suggesting that some models could have up to 16GB of RAM.
