Snapchat's user count surpassed 400 million

Snapchat, one of the leading social media platforms, recently announced a significant achievement in its Q3 2023 earnings report. The platform's user base has expanded, reaching a staggering 400 million users. Within the last quarter, the app added 9 million new users, bringing the total daily active users (DAUs) to 406 million, reflecting an impressive 12 percent growth compared to the previous year.

Despite facing challenges last year, such as laying off nearly 20 percent of its workforce to mitigate falling advertising revenues, the platform has shown resilience. Following these layoffs, Snapchat made notable strides by introducing innovative features. One such feature, released earlier this month, allows users to embed content, while another introduces AI-powered fill features. However, it's worth noting that the platform faced criticism from UK regulators concerning interactions between its "Snap My AI" chatbot and minors.

Financially, the Q3 report showed promising results, with the company generating 1.19 billion US Dollars in revenue for the quarter, a 5 percent increase compared to the same period last year. One significant factor contributing to this growth is the Snapchat+ subscription service. Priced at just 4 US Dollars a month, this premium offering provides subscribers with access to exclusive and experimental features, attracting over five million users.
