Seems like the release date for iQOO 12 series has been determined
There's new news from the iQOO 12 series, which smartphone enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for.
Xiaomi has recently confirmed its plans to launch the Xiaomi 14 series in China this October. Interestingly, the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro will be the pioneering devices to harness the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Close on its heels, the iQOO 12 and 12 Pro are rumored to be the subsequent smartphones equipped with the SD8G3 chipset, targeting the Chinese market.
Recent leaks suggest the possible release date of the iQOO 12 series. An influential tipster, Panda is Bald, has hinted at a November 7 unveiling for these anticipated models. Such timing would strategically position the iQOO 12 and 12 Pro for sale during China's Double Eleven shopping festival, an annual event held on November 11.
Delving into the anticipated specifications, the iQOO 12 and 12 Pro are poised to showcase metallic frames. The base model is predicted to offer IP64 dust and water resistance, whereas the Pro version is believed to elevate this to IP68. Aesthetic choices include potential color variants like black, white, and red.

The display technology for these models seems promising. Both phones are projected to flaunt a 6.78-inch E7 AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The standard model is set to include a 1.5K resolution flat screen with an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. Conversely, the Pro is expected to boast a 2K resolution curved screen, complemented by an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. As for the software, both devices are believed to run on Android 14 OS, layered with OriginOS 4.
Driving their performance, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is expected to support up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and offer a staggering 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Both models will likely include a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. For rear photography, the iQOO 12 is rumored to feature a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens. This model might be powered by a 5,000mAh battery, supported by 120W charging. The iQOO 12 Pro, while retaining the primary and ultra-wide sensors of its counterpart, might differentiate with a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and a slightly larger 5,100mAh battery, capable of both 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
