Screen features and color options for Xiaomi 14 are confirmed

Earlier today, at the 2023 Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm unveiled its latest offering, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. During this event, Xiaomi Group's Lu Weibing, serving both as the President and the head of the International Department, presented a first look at the Xiaomi 14 series, unveiling its real-life design.

The Xiaomi 14 and its Pro variant share similar aesthetics, with the standard version being a more compact counterpart of the Pro model. Unlike its predecessors that boasted a curved-edge screen, the Xiaomi 14 series offers a flat display. This change complements the more pronounced curvature of the glass edges on the back of the phones, enhancing the tactile experience and ensuring a secure grip. In terms of color choices, the Xiaomi 14 is available in black, white, green, and pink. However, the Pro model will exclude the pink option from its color palette.

An interesting highlight is that both models will be launched tomorrow, marking them as the first smartphones worldwide to incorporate the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Alongside this, the 14 series will also debut Xiaomi's self-developed HyperOS operating system, built atop Android 14.

Diving deeper into the display specifications, the Xiaomi 14 incorporates the Huaxing C8 display. This is the outcome of a joint effort between Xiaomi and TCL. With a screen size of 6.36 inches, it promises a 1.5K resolution, an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, and can achieve a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. Furthermore, its power efficiency has seen improvements, consuming 17% less energy compared to its previous generation.
