Samsung's budget-friendly model's launch date approaches

Samsung's A0x smartphone series has been recognized for its cost-effective approach, providing decent specs at a more affordable price point. Among them, the Galaxy A04, which was introduced last year, is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor. Rumors are circulating that the successor, Galaxy A05, is on its way, given its recent acquisition of various certifications including FCC and BIS.

Details from the FCC certification indicate that the Galaxy A05, identifiable by its model number SM-A055M, will support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, and 5.8Ghz frequency bands. Meanwhile, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification provides less detail, mainly revealing its model number. However, this might suggest that the Galaxy A05's launch in India is imminent.

In a previous update from July, the Galaxy A05 was also certified by Bluetooth SIG, which confirmed its support for Bluetooth v3.0. It's expected that this device will come equipped with Android 13, featuring Samsung's One UI 5 skin. It's important to note that this might be the "core" version tailored for phones with certain hardware restrictions.

Expected to be an enhancement of the Galaxy A04, the Galaxy A05 is likely to come with several upgrades. For reference, the Galaxy A04 had a 6.5-inch display with an Infinity-V notch and HD+ resolution. Its camera setup comprised a 5MP front-facing camera, and a dual rear camera system, with a 50MP primary and a 2MP depth sensor. Powering the A04 is a 5,000mAh battery, possibly with 10W charging capabilities.
