Rumors are swirling around Samsung's next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, as reports suggest the tech giant may incorporate stacked battery technology and introduce 65W fast-charging support. If the speculations hold true, this would mark a significant leap in battery innovation for Samsung, offering users improved battery capacity and faster charging capabilities. With stacked battery technology and 65W fast-charging, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could potentially provide users with extended usage times and reduced charging durations, enhancing the overall mobile experience.

According to reports, Samsung has reportedly initiated the prototyping phase of its stacked battery technology, which is originally developed for electric vehicles (EVs). It is anticipated that some of the manufacturing techniques employed for mass-producing these cells might be adapted for mobile devices as well. However, it has been mentioned by RGcloudS on Twitter that stacked batteries will likely be exclusive to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, with a possibility, albeit small, of these components being incorporated into the Galaxy S24 Plus. The likelihood of the technology being implemented in all three flagship models in 2023 is low due to potential increased costs.

RGcloudS also says Samsung is rumored to initiate production of stacked batteries for the Galaxy S24 Ultra at its Cheonan plant in Seoul. However, the manufacturing equipment required for producing these stacked batteries has not yet been delivered to the Cheonan facility. As a result, the initial pilot run of these advanced batteries will likely take place in China. Due to limited production quantities, it is expected that Samsung will prioritize the stacked batteries for use exclusively in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
