Anticipating a vigorous competitive environment in the upcoming year, Samsung plans an early release for its Galaxy S24 series, breaking its conventional launch routine. Samsung's previous release, the Galaxy S23 line, was unveiled on February 1st and hit the markets on February 18, 2023. However, the credible tipster, Ice Universe, forecasts the Galaxy S24 series to potentially be available to consumers around January 18th, aligning with the reported strategic shift intended to tackle other Android handsets that are due to release late this year, boasting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
Samsung Galaxy S24 series might arrive sooner than expected
Diving into specifications, the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra is anticipated to be powered by the robust Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC across all regions. On the other hand, its counterparts, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+, are expected to employ the domestically produced Exynos 2400 deca-core chipset in certain regions. A glimpse into the US version of the Galaxy S24 Ultra via a Geekbench listing corroborates these predictions, revealing the inclusion of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and highlighting a noticeable performance enhancement when compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
As for the display, the entirety of the S24 series will feature a Dynamic AMOLED LTPO panel, flaunting a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, with all three models expected to dazzle with 2400 nits of brightness and operate on an Android 14-based One UI 6. Additionally, the battery capabilities are set to vary across the models; the S24 is rumored to be equipped with a 4000mAh cell, the S24+ with a 4900mAh, and the S24 Ultra potentially boasting a 5000mAh cell. Moreover, insiders suggest that the apex model, the S24 Ultra, might also introduce a titanium frame, setting a new standard in durability and luxury in Samsung’s flagship offerings.
