Samsung Galaxy S24+ appears with an Exynos chipset
The longstanding question of whether the Galaxy S series will continue with Exynos chipsets might soon be answered with a new leak.
The anticipation surrounding Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S24 series has been palpable. Even before the company has made an official declaration, details about the South Korean variant of the Galaxy S24+ have started to emerge, shedding light on some critical specifications.
Earlier in the month, the Galaxy S24+ appeared on the GeekBench platform, flaunting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Recently, a new sighting of the same model has been noted, but this time equipped with the Exynos 2400 SoC. This variant will be identified with the SM-S926N model number. Notably, it will run on Android 14 OS straight out of the box, complemented by the One UI 6 custom skin.

Performance-wise, the GeekBench results showcase the Exynos 2400 variant scoring 2,044 points on the single-core test and 6,406 points on the multi-core test. In contrast, the US variant had scored 2,233 and 6,661 points respectively. While a difference in performance remains evident, it's essential to understand that these synthetic benchmark results don't always reflect the actual day-to-day usage. Historically, the Exynos variants have slightly trailed behind their Qualcomm counterparts in terms of power. However, this gap appears to be narrowing with time.
This most recent GeekBench appearance also aligns with previous information highlighting the deca core architecture. For now, that's all the information available, but it's only a matter of time before more details about the Galaxy S24 series emerge.
