Samsung Galaxy S23 series started receiving security updates
South Korean tech giant Samsung's current flagship series, the Galaxy S23, began to receive security updates for the month of August.
Samsung's Galaxy S23 series has been updated with the August 2023 security patch in the US, following its initial release in Thailand and Europe a week ago. The update, identified by the firmware version S91xUSQU1AWGH, is now available for the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. However, the factory-unlocked models are still awaiting the update. In addition, Samsung has provided this update for its midrange models, the Galaxy A04s and Galaxy A52s.
The recent software enhancement introduces a feature allowing users to use a 2x zoom toggle within the Camera app. To access this, the latest version of the Camera Assistant app is necessary. This update not only offers camera-related improvements but also emphasizes user safety by incorporating the August 2023 security patch. Impressively, this patch rectifies more than 70 vulnerabilities observed in the prior version. This includes 2 of critical importance, 50 considered high, and 1 moderate. Moreover, it resolves 5 longstanding security issues from prior patches and addresses 19 specific Samsung Vulnerability Items (SVEs).
Users keen on verifying the availability of this update for their devices can navigate to Settings and opt for the Software update option. If the update appears, they should download it and subsequently restart their device for a complete installation.
