Samsung Galaxy S23 FE reportedly set to launch with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is rumored to get Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 boost. Here are all the details.
Although the Galaxy S21 FE didn't have a significant impact in the market last year, rumors suggest that Samsung hasn't abandoned its FE lineup just yet. According to Twitter leaker OreXda, the company may be working on the Galaxy S23 FE, with some exciting features being speculated.
Samsung Galaxy S23 might be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC
According to Twitter leaker OreXda, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will run on last year's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset to keep the unit price in check. However, this older chip is still a high-end model and should provide a flagship-level performance.
Moreover, the use of the older chip can also allow Samsung to reduce the cost of manufacturing and offer the phone at a lower price point. The Galaxy S23 FE is also rumored to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display and some or all of the camera sensors from the Galaxy S23 series.
The Galaxy S23 FE's launch will mark Samsung's renewed commitment to its budget-friendly offerings, as the fate of the FE lineup had been uncertain. The phone is expected to launch in Q3 or Q4 and will face competition from other mid-range phones in the market.
Nevertheless, Samsung's strong brand image and loyal customer base could provide it with an edge. While it is still too early to predict the phone's success, these leaks indicate that Samsung's FE lineup is not going away anytime soon.
