Samsung is purportedly in the process of developing a new addition to the Galaxy M-series, speculated to be the successor to the Galaxy M34 5G. The new device, likely to be named the Samsung Galaxy M44 5G, has already been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website.

The Geekbench listing for the Samsung Galaxy M44 5G reveals a model number SM-M446K, which is assumed to be intended for the Korean market. The device's motherboard, codenamed 'lahaina', boasts four cores clocked at 1.80GHz, three cores at 2.42GHz, and a primary core running at 2.84GHz. This configuration aligns with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. Further, the benchmark database suggests that the Galaxy M44 5G will come with 6GB RAM, with the potential for additional options upon launch. The device will be equipped with the Android 13 OS from the outset.

In terms of benchmarking performance, the Samsung Galaxy M44 5G scored 1,531 and 3,771 points in Geekbench's single-core and multi-core tests respectively. While the Geekbench listing does not disclose more details, it is the first sighting of the device, and more certifications in the coming weeks could unveil further specifics.

Earlier this month, Samsung introduced the Galaxy M34 5G in India, with plans for a broader global launch. The device features a 120Hz AMOLED display and a 50MP OIS-enabled primary camera. It's powered by an Exynos 1280 SoC, coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. A 6,000mAh battery supporting 25W fast charging serves as the device's power source.
