TrendForce, a respected market research firm, took to social media to share a notable insight. They revealed that Samsung has revived its "in-house AP design project," a strong indicator of the development of the Exynos 2400 chip. This strategic move by Samsung aligns with their commitment to sustaining advanced R&D capabilities and honing their expertise in cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing.
TrendForce's tweets further divulge that the Exynos 2400 is poised for a Q4 2023 launch and will be initially available in the Galaxy S24 series, albeit in limited quantities. This aligns with previous speculation that Exynos 2400-powered models might primarily target the European and certain Asian markets, a notion that appears to be gaining credibility.
As for the technical specifications, earlier rumors have pointed towards a 10-core CPU configuration with a distribution of 1+2+3+4 cores. The CPU's centerpiece, the Cortex-X4 core, is expected to clock at 3.10GHz, while the two Cortex-A720 cores are projected to run at 2.9GHz. The three Cortex-A720 cores are envisaged to operate at 2.6GHz, while the four Cortex-A520 cores are likely to function at 1.8GHz. This amalgamation will be based on the ARMv9 architecture.
The Exynos 2400 is also slated to feature a novel Xclipse 940 GPU, which is set to leverage AMD's RDNA2 architecture. In the realm of memory, the SoC will provide support for LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, showcasing Samsung's commitment to delivering a comprehensive and cutting-edge mobile experience.
