Samsung drops the ‘Galaxy’ brand name: The end of an era
South Korean tech giant Samsung is no longer branded as Galaxy in Japan. Here are all the details.
Samsung and Galaxy names are inseparable, but the company is now making the Galaxy name a thing of the past in Japan. The company has announced that they will undergo a huge change. On February 28th, the company's social media channels and online shop will stop using the term "Galaxy" and start using the name Samsung.
Samsung has gone through a major change
Samsung now seems secure enough to reclaim its initial brand name in Japan. The customer service departments of Samsung, formerly known as "Galaxy Customer Centers," are now open to customers who need help. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy S23 line has been rebranded as well.
From time to time the companies go under some major changes, for example Nokia recently has announced that they changed their logo and chosen a more minimalistic one. In that sense Samsung also decided to rebrand themselves in Japan same as how they brand themselves in global market.
This action shows Samsung's reaffirmed faith in its brand identification and dedication to offering Japanese customers the same high-quality goods and services as those enjoyed by customers around the world.
