Samsung continues to launch new Pokemon-focused devices
The South Korean tech giant Samsung continues to leverage the popularity of Pokemon, one of the most popular animated series of all time.
Samsung has a rich history of introducing Pokémon-themed merchandise. Remember the Galaxy Z Flip3 Pokémon Edition phone that sold out in minutes last year? Or the adorably unique Galaxy Buds 2 that were shaped like a Poké Ball? Well, it seems Samsung is set on keeping the Pokémon spirit alive by introducing three new Galaxy Buds 2 cases. These cases are inspired by fan-favorite Pokémon characters – Jigglypuff, Ditto, and Snorlax.
The Pokémon-themed Galaxy Buds 2 case, dubbed the "Galaxy Buds 2 Pokemon Pack," has debuted in South Korea. The pricing for the Buds 2 case is set at KRW 129,000 ($98.99). Meanwhile, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro Pokemon Pack can be yours for KRW 199,000 (approximately $152). Each case embodies the distinctive charm of Ditto, Jigglypuff, and Snorlax, appealing to the nostalgia of Pokémon enthusiasts.

Regrettably, the availability of these playful cases is currently limited to South Korea. Keen customers can begin purchasing them through G Market. For those who prefer in-store shopping, the Ditto and Snorlax versions of the Galaxy Buds 2 and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro will be obtainable offline at the Samsung Gangnam store, starting June 29.
Samsung has often embraced the enchanting world of Pokémon in its product line. Earlier this year, the Korean tech giant released a unique Galaxy Z Flip4 case and watch straps for the Galaxy Watch5, both festooned with Pokémon elements. Given the rapid sell-out of these special products, Samsung's decision to continually launch Pokémon-themed items seems logical. It's even plausible that Samsung might broaden these products' reach to international markets in the future.
Looking ahead, Samsung is preparing to wow the tech world with the unveiling of the new Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 during next month's Unpacked event. There are also whispers about the potential introduction of the new Galaxy Watch 6 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and Galaxy Buds 3 alongside the flagship foldables.
