Redmi K70 Pro: Metal frame and 3x zoom telephoto camera expected
The Redmi K70 Pro is anticipated to feature a robust metal frame and an innovative 3x zoom telephoto camera.
Redmi is reportedly gearing up for the release of three new smartphones: the Redmi K70e, Redmi K70, and Redmi K70 Pro, all expected to launch later this year. These devices are rumored to come with different chipsets: Dimensity 8300, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. In a recent Weibo post by the tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), some new details about the Redmi K70 have emerged.
Redmi K70 Pro: Metal frame and 3x zoom telephoto camera expected
According to the information shared by DCS, the Redmi K70 Pro is positioned as a premium device, featuring a sturdy metal middle frame that promises increased durability compared to its predecessor. The leak also suggests that the K70 Pro might become the first in the Redmi K-series to sport a telephoto camera, capable of 3x optical zoom.
The model names 23117RK66C, 2311DRK48C, and 23113RKC6C are reportedly associated with the Redmi K70e, K70, and K70 Pro respectively. While previous claims pointed towards the K70 Pro (23113RKC6C) housing the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a recent Geekbench listing revealed that it actually carries a Dimensity 9200+ chip. Commenting on this discrepancy, Kacper Skrzypek noted that the model name might have been misrepresented, citing the device's identification as "Corot," a name previously linked with the Redmi K60 Ultra (23078RKD5C). He remains skeptical about the authenticity of the 23113RKC6C model.
Additional reports indicate that the Redmi K70 Pro will boast a flat display with a 2K resolution and potentially a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is expected to pack Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5,120mAh battery with 120W fast charging. The device could run MIUI 14 based on Android 13 and include an in-screen fingerprint scanner. There are also suggestions that the K70 Pro might be rebranded as the Poco F6 Pro for the global market.
