Redmi K70 and K70 Pro launch with bright screens and fast charging

At a recent event in China, Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand unveiled a series of new products that included smartphones, laptops, smartwatches, TWS earphones, and more. Among the highlights were the Redmi K70 lineup models – the K70e, K70, and K70 Pro – which serve as the successors to last year’s K60 devices. The K70 Pro, in particular, stands out as the top-end model in this latest-generation K-series, with the standard and pro variants being nearly identical but with a few notable differences.

The Redmi K70 and K70 Pro showcase a fresh design language, featuring a rectangular camera island and a boxy metal frame. Display-wise, both models are equipped with a 6.67-inch TCL C8 OLED screen, offering a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The displays provide a 4,000 nits peak brightness and 3840Hz PWM high-frequency dimming, ensuring clarity even under harsh sunlight. Both phones also support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, and feature a center-aligned punch-hole cutout and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The camera setup on the Redmi K70 series is impressive, with both the standard and pro variants featuring a 50MP 1/1.55-inch primary sensor with OIS support. The K70 Pro boasts a 50MP telephoto unit with 2x zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide lens, while the K70 includes an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro unit. Both devices come with a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies.

Powering the Redmi K70 Pro is Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, whereas the K70 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The smartphones offer up to 24GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB UFS 4 storage, backed by a 5000 mm2 heat dissipation system. Both models are fueled by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging and come with HyperOS-based Android 14 OS.

Additional features of the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro include a USB-C port, WiFi-7, NFC, IR Blaster, Bluetooth 5.4, and an X-Axis Linear motor.

In terms of availability and pricing, the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro are offered in various colors like Black, Glacier Silver, Bamboo Moon Blue, and Light Purple (exclusive to the Pro model).

The 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB configurations of the standard model are priced at CNY 2,499 (~$352), CNY 2,699 (~$381), CNY 2,999 (~$423) and CNY 3,399 (~$479) respectively.

The same 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 256GB, and 16GB + 512GB options of the K70 Pro cost CNY 3,299 (~$465), CNY 3,599 (~$508) and CNY 3,899 (~$550). The top-tier 24GB + 1TB configuration carries a price tag of CNY 4,399(~$621).
