A popular OnePlus smartphone receives a significant and exciting update!
The much-anticipated Oxygen OS 14 Open Beta build has made its way to the OnePlus Nord 3, making it the second OnePlus smartphone to receive this latest iteration following the OnePlus 11. It had previously received the Oxygen OS 14 Closed Beta a few weeks ago, and now, Indian variant users of the OnePlus Nord 3 can enjoy the Android 14 features.

In this Open Beta, users can be the first to experience the new features and enhancements on OxygenOS 14. Unlike the Closed Beta program, which is limited to selected users, the Open Beta is open to any interested user who wishes to try the update before the stable build. However, it's essential to note that it's available to the first 5000 participants with their phone running the CPH2491_13.1.0.581(EX01) firmware.
This update brings several noteworthy feature additions and changes, including the introduction of a new Cloud Photo Service in Google Photos, enhanced security and privacy measures, performance optimization, and a fresh Aquamorphic design.
Nevertheless, as with any early beta release, there are potential downsides to this update. The OOS 14 Open Beta 1 may have some bugs and issues that could inconvenience regular users. It's advisable for those who prefer a smoother experience to wait for the stable build. However, if you choose to flash the OOS 14 Open Beta, be aware of these known issues:
- Potential flashback issue when clicking on certain cards in Shelf.
- Dual-channel network acceleration function may not trigger automatically.
- An abnormal display issue of the bokeh icon when switching to the front camera in portrait mode.
- Before upgrading, make sure your device is running the latest OxygenOS 13.1 firmware, and ensure that at least 30% of your device's battery is available, with at least 4 GB of storage space.
- To opt for the Open Beta update, navigate to Settings > About device > Tap "Up to date" > Tap the icon on the top right > Select "Beta program" and follow the steps to apply the update.
OnePlus has ambitious plans to bring OxygenOS 14 to a total of 15 smartphones by next year. All the smartphones listed in the OxygenOS 14 Open Beta timeline will eventually receive the update.
