Poco F6 5G: A rebranded Redmi K70e?
IMDA certification hints that the Poco F6 5G might be introduced globally as the Redmi K70e.
Poco is reportedly gearing up to introduce two new smartphones to the global market, including India: the Poco F6 5G and the Poco F6 Pro 5G. These devices are expected to be rebranded versions of the Redmi K70 series, which is set to make its debut this month in China. The Poco F6's Indian variant, identified by the model number 2311DRK48I, has recently received approval from India's BIS authority. Furthermore, its global counterpart, bearing the model number 2311DRK48G, has been certified by the IMDA in Singapore. These certifications suggest that the Poco F6 will soon be launching in various markets.
A recent hands-on video on Weibo showcased the front design of the Redmi K70e, speculated to be rebranded as the Poco F6 for the global audience. The Redmi K70e, which is expected to be the world's first smartphone equipped with the Dimensity 8300-Ultra chip, has already caught attention due to its impressive performance in benchmark tests like Geekbench.

The anticipated specifications of the Redmi K70e, which could mirror those of the Poco F6, include a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is also expected to feature up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5,500mAh battery supporting 90W fast charging. Additional features likely to be included are a 16-megapixel front camera, a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor (with OIS), an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The K70e is anticipated to come with HyperOS-based Android 14, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a glass back, and a plastic frame, measuring 8.09mm in thickness and weighing 198 grams.
These developments indicate that Poco is looking to expand its presence in the global market with competitively priced yet feature-rich devices, potentially changing the dynamics of the mid-range smartphone segment.
