Poco C51 arrives with new options
Chinese tech company Poco adds another to its lineup of budget-friendly smartphone models.
The Poco C51, previously introduced in April as one of the brand's most affordable smartphones, is getting an upgrade in India. Initially, the model was released with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage capacity. Now, a newly launched variant offers enhanced specifications, boasting 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
Retailing at Rs 8,999 ($109), this variant has the added feature of 5 GB virtual RAM and is available in two color options: Power Black and Royal Blue. A noteworthy promotion for the device is a 10% discount with SBI Bank credit or debit card purchases, effectively reducing the price to Rs 8,099 ($98). The older 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage model remains available at its current price of Rs 6,499 (~$79). For those looking to make an online purchase, the smartphone is exclusive to Flipkart.
Diving into its technical details, the Poco C51 is designed as an entry-level device, equipped with a 6.52-inch LCD HD+ screen, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Photography enthusiasts can utilize its 5-megapixel front-facing camera and an 8-megapixel dual rear camera accompanied by an LED flash. Its leather-textured back panel discreetly houses a fingerprint scanner.
On the software front, the device runs on Android 13 (Go edition) and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. Internally, the smartphone operates on a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset, LPDDR4x RAM, and eMMC storage. Additional features worth mentioning include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a microUSB port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It's also worth noting that the Poco C51 is essentially a rebranded Redmi A2+ for the Indian market.
