Pixel 7 Pro volume buttons prove fragile, users report
The reason behind the sudden detachment of the volume buttons on Pixel 7 Pro phones is unknown, including Google.
Google's Pixel phone line has improved significantly over the past two years, but quality control problems persist and have an impact on the user experience. The Pixel 6 series had several issues with bugs, while the Pixel 7 is less prone to these problems, however, its hardware has been found to be not as durable by many users.
Google Pixel 7 Pro volume buttons reportedly coming off
According to Nicholas Sutrich of Android Central, his Pixel 7 Pro's volume rocker detached unexpectedly. He noticed this while taking a picture with the phone and found that the volume button was loose at the top of the screen.
Sutrich reports that he takes good care of his devices and the Pixel 7 Pro is not even his main phone, only being used occasionally for testing new Pixel features or taking pictures. Although he was able to reattach the volume rocker, it now feels unsteady.
Nicholas Sutrich is not the only person who has reported a problem with their Pixel 7 phone. Many have also reported that their volume buttons have come off without any intentional actions.
Did Google address to Pixel 7 Pro volume button issue?
Even it is a widespread issue, Google has suggested that the problem is due to user mishandling of the phone and has not covered it under warranty for some users who have reported it.
Despite the users saying they have not mistreated the phone, Google still insists on this explanation.
