The Oppo A79 5G has appeared on several online databases, including NBTC, TUV IMDA, FCC, and TUV Rheinland. It was also spotted on the Camera FV5 website. This upcoming device is expected to succeed the Oppo A78 5G, which the Chinese tech giant released earlier this year. The NBTC listing confirms the device's name as the Oppo A79 5G, bearing the model number CPH2557.
The IMDA and TUV Rheinland certifications further confirm this information. Additionally, TUV Rheinland certification reveals that the phone will be equipped with a 4,880mAh battery pack, likely rated at 5,000mAh, and will support 33W fast charging. These certifications also provide details about the phone's dimensions, measuring 165.61 x 76.02 x 7.99mm and weighing 193 grams. The FCC listing confirms that it will run on the Android 13 OS with ColorOS 13.1 out of the box.
Furthermore, the certifications indicate that the Oppo A79 5G will feature 5G connectivity, FM Radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, SBAS, and NFC support. The Camera FV5 database lists the device with a 50-megapixel primary camera, which captures images in 12.5-megapixel resolution and features an f/1.8 aperture. For selfies, it will have an 8-megapixel front camera. Unfortunately, details about the processor and storage options are still pending, so we'll have to wait for further updates on these specifications.
